'Wa-gyu' literally meaning Japanese Cow, originally refers to all Japanese Beef Cattle. The production of Wagyu beef in Japan is highly regulated and only the very best are kept for breeding. There was a very short period of time in the 80's to mid 90's where Japan allowed for the export of highly prized Wagyu to Australia, US and beyond which has resulted in cross-bred Wagyu from all corners of the World.
Here at That Fat Cow, we have sourced what we believe to be the best Wagyu from the world over. From the original and extremely rare Japanese A5, The incredible full blood 2GR range from Australia to the delightful cross-bred Wagyu from Chile.
